Digital Census plans for the Isle of Wight
It has been announced that the Isle of Wight has been asked to pilot ‘assisted digital help’ for the next Census and it has be welcomed with open arms given that that the last Census on the Island was in 2011.
Households from Cowes, Newport, Ryde and Sandown will be selected at random to receive letters with unique access codes from the Office of National Statistics.
Recipients will be asked to go online with their unique access code which will allow them to log onto a quick and easy online questionnaire.
Libraries from each area mentioned will be on hand to help anyone that has any questions:
“We have the computers and wifi available and we already provide a lot of support for residents to access digital services and we are ready to help you if you are one of the households that have been chosen to take part in the census test.” – Ron Jones, Service Manager
If you have been selected to take part in the Census test, further information is available at www.ons.gov.uk/census and the helpline number is: 0300 068 3001. If you’re a Wightfibre customer, then logging on at lightening speeds to complete your questionnaire will not be an issue for you. Want to find out more about our services? Click here.
