The Hurricanes Are Off to Twickenham!
We are thrilled to announce that the Sandown & Shanklin RFC Veterans are gearing up to participate in a prestigious tournament at Twickenham on Saturday, 24th May 2025. This event is in support of the RFU Injured Players Foundation (IPF), England Rugby’s Official Charity, which provides crucial support to rugby players who sustain life-changing spinal cord or brain injuries while playing the game. The foundation also funds vital injury prevention research to ensure the safety of everyone on the field.

Join Us at Twickenham
There is also an exciting opportunity for supporters to join the team on the day and watch the Veterans tournament at Twickenham. Return day coach travel from the Island is available for all ages, encouraging everyone to travel with the team. The prices for return travel, including ferry ticket, entrance, and ticket for Twickenham, are as follows:
Adults (16 years +): £45.00
Children (15 years & under): £15.00
Please note that the entrance fee to Twickenham profits go to the IPF, and there is a limit of two children per adult.
Fundraising Efforts
The team and the club are currently engaged in a remarkable fundraising campaign for the Injured Players Foundation. To date, over £15,000 has been raised, but the fundraising efforts continue with plenty of time left and numerous events planned. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a significant difference, as 100% of the donations go directly to the Injured Players Foundation. We encourage everyone to contribute to this very worthwhile cause.
