Isle of Wight Radio’s Child of Wight Awards 2016
On Friday the 20th of May, a very special audience joined Isle of Wight Radio and main sponsor WightFibre at Cowes Yacht Haven for an evening of celebration. The first ever Child of Wight Awards saw twelve amazing young people from the Isle of Wight receive recognition for their compassion, hard work and personal achievements.
The atmosphere in Cowes Yacht Haven was astounding, with balloon modeller Clare of Twisted Inflations, magician Aaron Isted and fun photo booth company Wight Rose setting the tone for the night ahead. CEO of WightFibre, John Irvine was one of the first to jump into the photo booth to have his novelty photos taken!
Following an excellent performance from Oliver by Theatre Train, the Vectis Remnant Squad helped to open the awards with a very special meeting between the dark-lord Darth Vader, and youngster Lewis Oatley.
