WightFibre to raise internet top speed to 152 Mbps in October.
We’re upping our top speed to 152 Mbps in October!
We’re also happy to announce that our rise in internet speed has been picked up by the ‘tech news’ site Telecom Paper, who have written the below article about us!
“UK ISP WightFibre announced that it would boost its peak internet speed to 152 Mbps in October, faster than BT and operators depending on the incumbent’s network. WightFibre, which said it tripled speeds to homes on its network in the Isle of Wight earlier this year, will upgrade 120 Mbps customers at no extra charge. Subscribers’ internet traffic volumes at peak times has grown 50 percent in nine months and by over 200 percent since launch in July 2012, said CEO John Irvine. Speed tests conducted by Ookla at IsleofWightSpeedTest.com show BT’s average speed on the island is 14.18 Mbps, compared to WightFibre’s average speed of 28.49 Mbps.”
